Magma Diver

Nerv locates the unborn body of Sandalphon, the Eighth Angel, in an active volcano. Nerv instantly forms a plan to capture the Angel. Evangelion Unit 02, with special D-type equipment to withstand the heat and pressure of the lava, is sent to retrieve it. While doing this, the Angel matures and attacks Unit 02. Unit 02 was forced to destroy the Angel.
