The Fourth Child

After a rough meeting, Toji became one of Shinji's closest friends. Toji was initially mad at Shinji for nearing killing his sister the his fist fight the the Third Angel. Toji was selected to be the Fourth Child and designated to be the pilot of Evangelion Unit 03. During the activation of Unit 03, it went berserk. Commander Ikari forced Shinji to destroy Unit 03 as the Thirteenth Angel. Toji lost an arm and a leg in that incident.
